Undertrial escapes from police custody

Akhilesh Yadav, who was lodged in Mau jail, was being taken to the court in Jaunpur district by Shahganj-Chappra passenger train. When the train reached Rani ka Sarai railway station, the undertrial escaped by giving slip to the policemen escorting him, they said.

SP Mau Yogendra Kumar has suspended the three police personnel and an FIR has been lodged against them, the officials said.
