Press Trust of India Kolkata
The Left Front today described the Union budget as "smoky" as it contained no specific measures for safeguarding interests of poor man, while maintaining the "tradition" of giving tax relief for the corporate houses.

"This union budget is smoky and has no provision for safeguarding interests of common man, while it takes care of giving lots of tax relief for the corporate houses," CPI(M)- led Front chairman Biman Bose told reporters here.

Bose said there was no mention of tackling price rise of commodities as also efforts to arrest parallel economy, thereby "putting pressure on national economy".

He said a meagre Rs 1,000 crore had been allocated for implementing food security bill which is unfortunate.
