UP: 3 Nepalese killed, 24 injured as bus rams into truck

Three Nepalese were today killed while 24 others injured when a speeding mini bus, carrying 29 passengers, rammed into a stationary heavy truck on Pilibhit-Basti road here in Uttar Pradesh.

The vehicle, which was carrying Nepalese passengers mostly, was heading to Rupaideeha from Solan in Himachal Pradesh when the bus rammed into the truck that was parked along the roadside near a petrol pump near Sisaiya village in Isanagar area early this morning, police said.

The identity of those killed could not be ascertained yet, but all of them belonged to Peerpur in Nepal, they said.

The injured have been rushed to the hospital, where the condition of six was stated to be critical.
 

Negligence on the part of the Nepalese driver, who was also killed in the mishap, was stated to be the reason behind the accident, they said.
