UP ATS arrests Babbar Khalsa member

The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) today arrested an alleged Babbar Khalsa member from Aishbagh area of the city, an official said.

Balwant Singh, an active member of Babbar Khalsa was arrested from Nadan Mahal road in Aishbagh area by the UP ATS on tip off from the Punjab Police, IG ATS Asim Arun said.

He is wanted in cases at the Mukandpur Police Station in Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab, and is allegedly a member of the Babbar Khalsa group, he said.

Punjab Police will take him in transit remand, Arun added.
