Uttar Pradesh chief secretary Rajive Kumar today directed senior officials to submit a report on illegal encroachment on government land by September 16.
The official said the report must include details of the encroachers and the land freed from encroachment.
Presiding over a meeting of the anti-land mafia task force here, he pitched for regular meetings at all levels to tackle the menace.
He also directed 'lekhpals' (revenue department employees) to submit certificates related to land freed from illegal encroachment by land mafia within 15 days.
