Addressing a review meeting of the forest department, Yadav asked officials to speed up the process of developing a Lion Safari and breeding centre for the animal in Etawah.

"The master plan for the scheme should be prepared as per guidelines of the Central Zoo Authority (CZA) and attempts should be made to get lions from other states", he said.

Sending a stern message to officers, Yadav said that plantation work should be seen on the ground and those found lax in their work should be taken care of by initiating strict action against them.

"The illegal cutting of tress should be stopped. The officers found lax in checking it and misusing money for plantation will be punished," he said.

He said that public representatives should be called for proposed 'Van Mahotasav' on July 4 in which 3.15 lakh saplings are to be planned at 80 places and added that support of students, social workers and common man should be taken in the plantation drive.

Katarnia Ghat wild life sanctuary, Chambal Vihar, Nawabganj (Unnao) and Kannauj bird sanctuaries and other such places should be developed to increase tourism activities.

About Dudhwa national park, Yadav said that a budget of Rs five crore each was sanctioned for Dudhwa park and Lion safari and officers should ensure that arrangements there should be good.

On the proposed Janeshwar Mishra park in Lucknow, Yadav said that hurdles in the project should be sorted out and directed the Lucknow Development Authority to do the needful in this regard.
