UP Govt officer killed in accident

A senior Uttar Pradesh Government officer and his driver were killed when the jeep they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck here this morning.

The accident occurred on NH 2 in Khaga police station area when the Bolero jeep coming from Kanpur collided with a truck, killing Khurja (Bulandshahr) SDM Indresh Kumar (45) and his driver Vijay (35) on the spot.

The officer was on his way to Allahabad in connection with a court case when the accident took place.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has expressed profound grief over the death of Indresh in the road accident.
