UP govt transfers over 40 IPS officers

In a major police shake up, the Uttar Pradesh government tonight transferred over 40 IPS officers including seven in the rank of DG and six in the rank of Additional DG.

Prominent among those transferred are Dr Surya Kumar, Chairman of Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, he becomes DG (Homeguard), Lucknow while Virendra Kumar DG (Anti- Corruption Bureau), Lucknow will take charge from Surya Kumar. Among others, Mahendra Modi, who was DG (Training) will become DG (Technical Services).

Among the ADGs, ADG (Law and Order) Aditya Mishra, who becomes ADG (Personnel) replacing P C Meena, who will join as ADG (Police Housing Corporation), an official release said.
 

ADG (Traffic) Lucknow, Prashant Kumar goes to Meerut as a Zonal ADG, replacing Anand Kumar who becomes the new ADG (Law and Order) in Lucknow.
