Press Trust of India Lucknow
In the wake of killing of Varanasi deputy jailor, who was shot dead in broad daylight, jail officers in Uttar Pradesh today asked the government to provide them gunners for their security.

UP Jail Superintendents Association in a meeting held here also demanded that arm licences be given to jail officers on priority for their security.

It was also decided that all the jail officers in the state will tie black ribbons on November 27 while on duty to protest the killing of Anil Tyagi.

Forty-five-year-old Tyagi was shot dead by four unidentified persons on November 23 while he was on way to gym. The four persons on motorbike chased him as soon he came out of his car and started indiscriminate firing, hitting him on the temple, stomach and back.
