UP: Liquor worth Rs 36 lakh seized, 2 arrested

Two persons have been arrested and 1,500 cartons of liquor worth Rs 36 lakh, allegedly being smuggled from here to West Bengal, were seized from their possession.

Gurjeet, a resident of Ambarapur village and Angraj Singh, a native of Haryana were arrested yesterday here, after their truck was intercepted, SHO Vinod Kumar said.

Liquor worth Rs 36 lakh was seized from the duo, he said, adding that the accused confessed that the alcohol was meant to be smuggled into West Bengal.
