UP mulling setting up SDRF on lines of NDRF

On the lines of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Uttar Pradesh government is mulling setting up SDRF to tackle natural calamity in the state.

Additional Director General of Provincial Armed Constabulary ADG PAC has been made nodal officer and he along with Secretary (Home) and Relief Commissioner are expected to study the organisational structure of NDRF and submit their report at the earliest, a government spokesman said here.

The issue came up for discussion at a meeting chaired by Principal Secretary (Home) Debashish Panda today, he said.
