UP to give tax rebate on purchase of cane

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to give tax rebate on purchase of sugarcane for crushing season 2014-15.

"With a view to ensure better payment of cane price to farmers at the earliest and problems being faced by the sugar mills, the government has decided to extend rebate on tax on purchase of cane in 2014-15 like previous crushing season," Principal Secretary Cane Rahul Bhatnagar said.

He said that the maximum limit of rebate would be equivalent to cane crushed.
