Dense fog engulfed several places of Uttar Pradesh disrupting air, train and vehicular traffic even as Kanpur recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 4.2 degrees Celsius.
According to MeT office, night temperatures fell in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Kanpur divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.
It was appreciably below normal in Lucknow division, below normal in Allahabad, Agra divisions while normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
Dense fog hampered air, train and vehicular traffic in different parts of the state.
MeT office, in a forecast, said weather would be mainly dry and fog would occur at many places and warned that dense to very dense fog may occur at a few places.
Cold conditions may prevail at isolated places over west parts in the state, the MeT office said.
