Indian golfer Vani Kapoor produced a fine second round of two-under 69 to make sure of weekend action at the inaugural Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open, which tees off today.
Finding four birdies against two bogeys, Vani, with rounds of 73-69, was even par and tied-36th, up 15 places from her first round tied-51st at the Ladies European Tour event.
Vani, who packs a lot of power, birdied three of four par-5s for a good second round.
The other Indian in the fray, Amandeep Drall followed up her first round 75 with another rough round as she was three- over through 12 holes. She is six-over and the cut looks likely at two-over, so she will in all likelihood miss the cut.
Spaniard Nuria Iturrios has the clubhouse with a round of 65 following up on her first round 69 to get to eight-under.
Tied for second were Scotswoman Pamela Prestwell (68-67) and Frenchwoman Karine Icher (71-64) at six-under each.
