A VAO was today caught red
handed while accepting Rs 2,500 as bribe to show an official favour near Pollachi in the district.
Based on a complaint by one Jayaraman that Balakrishnasamy, VAO of Oonjavelampatti village, was demanding money for transferring a land deed, the sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) laid a trap and handed over 'some marked currency notes' to the complainant, police said.
Balakrishnasamy was held, while accepting the money, they said.
