Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today said the University Students' Union polls will soon be held as per schedule in the state.
"In every situation, students' union polls in all Rajasthan universities would be conducted and announcement of dates would be made soon," Gehlot assured while addressing a state-level students' convention of NSUI.
Opposition parties and their frontal organisations were creating rumours that the state government would not hold elections in varsities, Gehlot said.
The Chief Minister called upon NSUI functionaries and members to gear up for the polls and advised them to ensure peaceful polling in the institutions.
