The Vasai creek bridge at Varsova will be closed for heavy vehicles from tomorrow in order to carry out urgent repairs, an official statement said today.
Repairs will be carried out on the bridge which is , and the work is likely to go on till September 15, it stated.
A meeting was held between the officials of the district at the district collectorate this evening in which the decision to close the bridge for heavy vehicles was taken.

The closure of the bridge during the Ganesh festival, starting from Monday, is likely to add to traffic woes on the Western Expressway.
"Only light vehicles like cars, jeeps, and two wheelers would be allowed on the bridge. The speed of the vehicles on the bridge will be restricted to only 20 kmsph and heavy vehicles will be totally banned during the repair work," it said.
Experts had recently inspected this bridge, located on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad road and constructed around 1970, that it needs immediate repairs.
