Veteran journalist dies

Veteran journalist Shankar Prasad Choudhury died here following a protracted illness, his family sources said.
He was 79 and is survived by his wife.
Choudhury had been suffering from various ailments for a long time and he breathed his last yesterday.

Choudhury had retired as Chief Reporter of the United News of India in its Kolkata bureau in the mid-90s.
He was also former president and secretary of the Kolkata Press Club.
