A Vietnamese merchant ship titled while loading steel billets at the Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT), a senior port official said today.
The 11,000 tonne 'Hai Duong 09' tilted to one side at the EQ berth number 5 at VPT here last evening, he said.
VPT Chairman M T Krishna Babu told reporters that no injuries and causalities were reported in the incident and efforts are on remove the loaded cargo to enable the ship to stabilise on its own.
Babu said the VPT would submit a report on the incident to the authorities concerned and the incident has been reported to the Director-General of Shipping.
