Vig nabs a police Sub-Inspector accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000

Vigilance sleuths today arrested a police Sub-Inspector on graft charge from Bihar's East Champaran district, a Vigilance department release said.

A Vigilance Investigation Bureau caught one Amit Verma, a Sub-Inspector-cum-Bhopatpur Outpost (OP) in-charge under Kotwa police station area of East Champaran district, red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for arresting an accused besides helping the complainant in a case diary.

One Wakil Sahni, a resident of Bhopatpur village under Kotwa police station of East Champaran district, had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Investigation Bureau that the Sub-Inspector-cum-Bhopatpur OP in-charge was demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 for arresting an accused besides helping the complainant in a case diary in connection with a case lodged with Kotwa police station, the release said.
