The top seeded players advanced to the semifinals of the Justice P S Kailasam Centenary GNC Men's ITF Futures tennis tournament after posting comfortable victories in their respective quarterfinal matches here today.
Top seed Vijay Sundar Prashanth got the better of Prajnesh Gunnwswaran 6-3 6-2 to set up a semifinal clash with eighth seed Sumit Nagal, who outplayed Mukund Sasikumar 6-1 6-1.
In other quarterfinal matches, Ouyang Bowen of China thrashed V M Ranjeet 6-1 6-2 and Siddarth Rawat defeated Isa Mammetgulyyev of Turkmenistan 6-1 6-1. Bowen and Rawat will face each other in a last-four tie tomorrow.
In the doubles semifinals, Chinese duo of Xin Gao and Ouyang beat Neeraj Elangovan and Niki Poonacha 6-2 6-2, while Markos Kalovelonis of Russia teamed up with Kunal Anand to defeat Lakshit and Chandril Sood 6-3 6-4 to reach the finals.
