Village head booked for rape

A village head was booked and taken into custody today after a woman at Naubasta Chaupad here accused him of raping her for the last six years, police said.

The woman in her complaint has alleged that six years ago when she was a minor, Gram Pradhan Faiz Ali had raped and threatened her against reporting the matter to anyone, police said.

The accused had been raping her ever since, the woman alleged in the complaint, they said.

Following her complaint an FIR was lodged and Ali taken into custody for questioning, police said, adding the woman has been sent for medical examination.
