Villagers block highway to protest against police inaction

The blockade, which remained for about an hour, resulted in long queues of vehicles on either sides of the road, causing inconvenience to the commuters.

Protesters called off the blockade after they were pacified by a senior police officials, who assured them of all necessary action in the case.

The villagers were protesting against the alleged delay by police in reaching the spot after being informed about the theft in Malpura locality last night.

Thieves had yesterday struck at the house of Daya Ram Sharma to decamp with cash and valuables worth about Rs 10 lakh.
