Villagers lynch man for rape attempt

A man was lynched by villagers for allegedly trying to rape a woman in Dahla village in Rampurmathura area here, police said today.

Jagat Narain (50) allegedly tried to rape a woman, mother of two kids, when she was working in a field yesterday, they said.

Jagat fired in the air to threaten her kids, when she resisted his rape bid. Meanwhile, villagers gathered on the spot and lynched Jagat.

Police is probing the matter.
