Villagers seek action against erosion

Official sources said residents of some of the villages including Bamundi, Hirapara and Siliguri have sent a petition in this regard to the state government through the Deputy Commissioner's office.

Heavy rainfall and rising water levels in the Brahmaputra in the past few days have made the problem of erosion in the area very serious.
