Vinayaka Chaturthi was celebrated in Puducherry with traditional zeal and religious fervour today.
People thronged the premises of the more than 350-year-old Manakula Vinayakar temple in the heart of the town from early morning to offer worship to deities in the temple.
Chief Minister of Puducherry V Narayanasamy and Tamil Nadu Industries Minister M C Sampath were among those who worshipped at the temple.
Special abishegams were performed to the presiding deity. Police were deployed in strength to regulate the crowd.
Clay models of Lord Ganesh were selling like hot cakes at various points.
