Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation today completed its probe into a case pertaining to the illegal allotment of a government land to a beneficiary under the Roshni Act, and submitted its report to the State Vigilance Commission for further action.
"In view of a complaint received by the SVO, verification was conducted into the allegation of granting illegal benefit to Bansi Lal Gupta in regularisation of state land under Roshni Act," a statement issued by the State Vigilance Organisation said today.
"During the investigation, it was found that a plot was allotted to the beneficiary in violation of various Sections of the Act, following which an FIR was registered with the State Vigilance Organisation, Jammu on February 26 this year," it said.

"Names of several officers of the Revenue department and the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) cropped up during the probe and an FIR was registered against them," the statement said.
After completing the investigation of the case by the State Vigilance Organisation against the officials of the revenue department and the beneficiary, the report was today submitted to the State Vigilance Commission for further action, it said.
