Himachal Pradesh Industries minister Mukesh Agnihotri today said that Virbhadra Singh would be the Chief Minister for the record 7thtime in the state polls.

Assembly election in the state is scheduled to be held later this year.

"Virbhadra Singh is our leader and backbone of Congress party and he will continue to be our leader and elected Chief Minister for record seventh time", Agnihotri said at a public meeting at Chururu in Chintpurni in Una district in the presence of the CM.

He said that there was no confusion on leadership issue in Congress and Virbhadra is the established leader but the BJP was confused as the party high command has not given any indication and let the state leaders guessing.

He said that mammoth gathering in rallies of Chief Minister was an indication of his popularity across the state and the Congress under his leadership would achieve the "mission repeat" in the coming assembly polls.

Early this month, the BJP MP Anurag Thakur has said that the party's winning streak which started in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, will continue in Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls.

Lashing out at the BJP for unleashing false propaganda by distorting the facts, Agnihotri said that as many as 43,000 government jobs were given during the last four years of the present government and it proposed to give 19,000 jobs in 2017-18.

The minister claimed that the budget as proposed by the Congress government was completely Tax-free and for benefit of every section of society.

Claiming the BJP was unnecessarily raking up the issue of declaring Dharamsala as Himachal's second capital, he said the saffron party could not take such decision in spite of the fact that two chief ministers of the party had hailed from the Kangra region.
