Kerala Government was contemplating to order a judicial probe by a High Court Judge into the Rs 7,525 crore Vizhijam multipurpose seaport project agreement in the backdrop of CAG observation that state's interests were not protected.

This was stated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at a function here today.

"A high level judicial inquiry by a High Court Judge is what we have in mind", the Chief Minister said.

The previous congress led UDF government had signed the agreement with the Adani Group.

Comptroller and Auditor General of India had in a recent report on public sector undertakings for the year ended March 2016, tabled in the state assembly last week, pointed out lapses on part of the state government while signing the agreement for implementing the project.
