Wanted criminal shot dead in UP

A criminal, carrying a reward of Rs 12,000, was today shot dead by some unidentified persons in Mata colony area here, police said.

The criminal, identified as Kurban (35), was shot dead around 3 am when he was travelling in a car, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vidyasagar Mishra said.

Several cases of murder and abduction were pending against Kurban who was on the run, he said.

An FIR has been registered in the matter, the ASP said, adding that no arrest has been made so far.
