A court here has issued a warrant against Jodhpur Mayor, former CEOs, and other former top officials of Jodhpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) for allegedly causing financial loss to the civic body by granting lease deed of a strip of land on forged documents.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Vijay Prakash Soni, issued the warrant yesterday and asked all the accused, which included former commissioners, engineers and legal officer of the civic body to appear before it on December 10.
The court had ordered a probe into the deal during the course of hearing of a petition filed by RTI activist Nand Lal Vyas.

Vyas has alleged in his petition that the JMC "colluded" with late Dav Kaur and prepared a wrong spot report of a plot to justify her illegal claim on it by extending the area of the plot from 3,848 sq. Ft. To 4,720 sq. Ft.
The extra strip of land belonged to the civic agency and the accused officials unreasonably expedited this process to ensure that the woman gets the lease deed of the extra strip of land, Vyas claimed in his petition.
"Surprisingly, the application to claim the land was filed on March 3, 2010, the spot report was prepared and submitted on the same day, which the competent officers signed without seeking any clarification or matching with the original documents.
"And the same day an advertisement was published in the newspaper giving a time of a week for any objections," the petition said.
