WBPDA critical about virtual decontrol of diesel prices

"The decision to allow oil companies to hike diesel prices from time to time will have an adverse effect on transport and increase inflation," WBPDA President Tushar Kanti Sen said here.

The effect of the diesel price hike would be similar to petrol after it was de-controlled and burden the people with further price rise of all essential commodities, Sen said.
