After an erratic international season, India's ace shuttler Kidambi Srikanth has set his eyes on the Premier badminton League, saying they will really benefit from the high-intensity matches when the event gets underway on January 2nd.

Srikanth is looking forward to play for Bengaluru Top Guns and is confident of a winning start to the League.

"Premier Badminton League will be a great exposure for the players and will help benefit us by making us play high intensity matches," he said.

With a good mix of players in each category, Srikanth will have Anand Pawar and Sameer Verma alongside him to play the crucial Men's Singles.

"I think the Men's Singles matches will be an interesting contest as with two matches, the teams will want to win both as then that will help get the edge in the Tie," Srikanth said.

"With Sameer and Anand in our team's category, I think we have a healthy mix and between us we will be able to give a tough time to the opponents."

The Premier Badminton League will witness six franchisees - Delhi Acers, Hyderabad Hunters, Awadhe Warriors, Mumbai Rockets, Bengaluru Top Guns and Chennai Smashers - competing for the top honour.

The opening day of the League will witness Saina Nehwal's Awadhe Warriors taking on Mumbai Rockets in Mumbai.
