Wheat prices drifted by Rs 40 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on adequate stocks position following increased arrivals of new crop in mandies against reduced offtake by flour mills.
However, rice basmati edged up on scattered buying by stockists.

In the capital, wheat MP (deshi) eased to Rs 2,250-2,630 from last close of Rs 2,270-2,670 per quintal.
Wheat dara (for mills) also declined by Rs 40 each to Rs 1,600-1,605 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 1,615-1,620 per 90 kg.
Wheat flour mills, maida and sooji finished lower at Rs 840-850, Rs 890-900 and Rs 990-1,010 against last close of Rs 845-855, Rs 920-930 and Rs 1,020-1,030 per 50 kg respectively.
On the other hand, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety 6,100-6,300 and Rs 4,950-6,200 per quintal respectively.
