A woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband at Bhagowal village here today, police said.
Mangal singh, a resident of Khujala village lodged a complaint with police saying, his sister Lakhwinder Kaur (40) was married to Balwinder Singh (44) who was allegedly a drug addict.
He used to beat up his sister under the influence of drugs. Today the victim called him and asked to come soon as her husband was beating her, the complainant said.
As soon as he and other relatives reached his sisters house, they saw her husband was beating her with a stick. After seeing them the accused fled away from the spot and her sister was found lying dead, he said.
Based on the complaint, a case of murder was registered against Balwinder Singh, who was absconding, police said.
