Wild animal attacks claim two lives

Two persons including a girl were mauled to death and two others critically injured by wild animals in separate attacks in Kashmir valley today, a police spokesman said.

Thirteen-year-old Kushboo was attacked and killed by a leopard outside her residence at Tangwari village of Kreeri, 35 kms from here, in Baramulla district, the spokesman said.

In another incident in the district, the spokesman said a black bear ventured into village Kawnar in the periphery of Gulmarg and attacked Abdul Sattar Bhat who was moving through the village.

Bhat, a resident of Watoo village of Tangmarg, was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead, he said.
 

Ghulam Rasool Sheikh, a resident of Sutharan, was critically injured in another bear attack at his village in Budgam district of central Kashmir, the spokesman said.

He said another villager, Ghulam Mohammad Magray, was attacked and injured by a bear near his house at village Keegam in Kupwara district.
