Wild card Vaidehi clinches title

Vaidehi Chaudhari of Gujarat justified the wild card awarded to her as she emerged champion at the USD 3000 FinIQATT Asian Ranking Women's Tennis Championship here on Sunday.

Vaidehi took 1 hour and 39 minutes to snub out another youngster Soha Sadiq of Karnataka 6-2, 6-1 to win the inaugural title on the ATT women's Tour.

Ahmedabad's Vaidehi broke her opponent's serve in the 3rd and 5th games of the first set and the 1st, 3rd and 7th games of the second to complete a comprehensive victory in the title clash.

The winner got Rs 31,500 and 40 points, while runner up Soha received Rs 21,000 and 25 points.
