BJP in West Bengal is hoping that the party's thumping victories in Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections will help expand its base in the state by recharging the morale of the cadre.

Bengal BJP president Rahul Sinha said that the party's decision to go solo in the two states had paid rich dividends, which is a "welcome move for the BJP family".

Taking a dig at detractors of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had gone about town declaring that Modi wave was over after its poor performance in recent bypolls, Sinha said the wave on the contrary had graduated into a 'Tsunami'.

"Those who were saying that Modi wave is over should now come out and speak. The Modi wave during the Lok Sabha polls has now taken the shape of Tsunami - the Tsunami of development," Sinha declared.

With this, the Bengal BJP chief feels, the countdown for the decimation of the Trinamool Congress regime in Bengal has started.
