Woman and child go missing after capsize

A woman and her two-year-old child went missing today after a country made boat capsized in Ranganodi river in Assam's Lakhimpur district.

Lakhimpur superintendent of police Sudhakar Singh said five others were rescued after the capsize this morning.

He said a SDRF team rushed to the spot and searched for the missing woman and her child the whole day.

The seven were travelling from Chapori area to Bogalijan, when their boat capsized in the river due to heavy current, he added.
