A woman and her one-year-old baby boy were electrocuted when they stepped on a live wire in a water filled pit while waiting in the queue for darshan at the Lord Venkateswara temple at nearby Tirumala tonight, police said.
The live wire was connected to a nearby electric pole, and had hit the water in incessant rains since morning.
The 24-year-old woman Lakshmi and her infant Mahesh were part of a four member family from Tiruvallur in Tamil Nadu, police said.
