A woman was arrested for allegedly registering a fake rape case against a resident of Sector-7 here.
The woman, who belongs to Khanpur in Delhi, had accused Ravi of the crime. While she was sent for a medical investigation, probe started into the complaint and it was found that that he had not left his home after 7 PM on March 7, the day the incident was alleged to have happened, police said today.
On being confronted with discrepancies in her statement and the findings of the inquiry, she purportedly confessed of having falsely accused the man on the instructions of another woman -- Reena.
She had allegedly threatened the woman with dire consequences if she did not implicate Ravi.
