A 29-year-old woman was beaten to death allegedly by her husband, following which he has been arrested in Bidhnu area here, police said today.
The incident occurred last night when the accused husband Rajkumar Shukla, a labourer, returned home and had a fight with wife Archana, following which he started beating her with an iron rod, SP (rural) Surendra Tiwari said.
The locals in the area gathered and admitted Archana to a hospital where she was declared dead, he said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, Tiwari said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
