Woman burnt by husband, in-laws for dowry

A 24-year-old woman was allegedly burnt by her husband and in-laws for dowry in Aurai area of the district, police said here today.

The victim, identified as Suman was burnt by her husband Satya Narain and his father over a demand for dowry in Kolahalpur village late last evening, Station House Officer (SHO) Surendra Kumar Pandey said.

He said that a case had been lodged and efforts were on to arrest the accused.

The SHO said that Sumar got married to Narain two years ago.
