Woman commits suicide by jumping in front of train

An unidentified woman today allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train between Phagwara and Mauli railway stations, railway police said.

Government Railway Police post in-charge Gurbhej Singh said the woman appeared to be 20-21 years of age.

Though no suicide note was found from the site, circumstantial evidence pointed out to her having committed suicide, he said.

The body was kept in a civil hospital mortuary for identification, Singh said.
