Woman commits suicide; case against husband, in-laws

A 22-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her house here this evening.

The deceased has been identified as Chetna, hailing from Pherowal village, police said.

The victim's parents have accused her husband Yogesh and her in-laws of torturing her for dowry which drove her to take the extreme step, they said.

The body has been sent to local civil hospital for post-mortem, police said, adding, the accused have been booked under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC.
