Woman construction worker found strangulated to death

A 35-year old woman construction worker has been found strangulated to death near Pollachi in the district, police said.

The woman, Shakunthala, who had gone with one Mahalingam for the construction site, did not return home on Saturday evening. Her husband had gone for work outside Pollachi, police said.

However, her body was found lying in Valantharayapuram, a few KMs from Pollachi, yesterday afternoon, they said.

Police has taken Mahalingam into custody late last night for questioning, police said.
