Woman, daughter commit suicide by jumping in front of train

A 30-year-old woman and her minor daughter allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving a train near West Hill railway station here this evening.

Sumathy, a resident of Palakkad, and her 4-year-old daughter allegedly jumped in front of the train going from Kozhikode to Kannur, police said.

The woman was identified by a bank passbook recovered from the spot, they said, adding other details and reason for them taking the extreme step could not be established immediately.
