Woman dies while boarding moving train

In a tragic incident, a 40-year-old woman died today after she got caught under a moving train in the city railway station here.

The woman Sabida had come to the city by Palakkad passenger express from Kerala along with her husband and children to attend a wedding in Mettupalayam, some 40 Kms from here, police said.

After alighting from the passenger express, they were rushing to board the train bound to Mettupalayam, which was ready to move.

Even as the husband and children managed to board the train, the woman could not catch up to the speed and fell in between the platform and train, they said.
 

Though Sabida was rushed to the government hospital, she was declared brought dead, police added.
