Woman faces acid attack in Deoria

Three motorcycle-borne men threw acid on a 20 year-old near Bhatvalia crossing here, police said today.

"The girl, a resident of Amava village, came to an institute here to enquire about a computer course. As she was returning, three persons riding on two motorcycles threw acid on her," police said.

The girl had 25 per cent burn injuries and was rushed to the district hospital. The men have been taken into custody, police said, adding that SP Rajiv Mehrotra met the girl personally.

The accused belong to girl's village, police added.
