A 28-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances here, with her parents alleging that she was murdered by her in-laws over dowry.
The woman's father has filed a complaint that her in-laws had been harassing his daughter over dowry, police said today.
The woman has been identified as Nisha and was found dead two days ago, a police officer said, adding a case of dowry harassment has been lodged and investigations are on.
In another incident, a case has been registered against eight persons for torturing a woman over dowry.
Nutan, in her complaint, alleged that her husband Devendra and in-laws demanded a motorcycle and Rs 50,000 in cash as dowry.
They also threatened to kill her if the demand was not met, a police officer said.
